Thailand Adventures - Phimai Angkor temples of Phimai

Prasat Hin Phimai was built at the beginning of the 12th century, when the Khmer Empire had its glory period. The monument is of great historic and aesthetic importance. It became the example and prototype for the later and world-famous Ankhor Wat in Cambodia. You will have ample time to see all of this complex and the national museum nearby. Don't miss the opportunity to take a short excursion (2 km down the road) to Saai Ngaam, a gigantic 300-year-old banyan tree complex hanging some 2.5 m above the ground, with hundreds of aerial roots anchoring it into the ground. A good place to have lunch in one of the many, fine food stalls. In the afternoon, transfer back to your homestay location in Khonkaen. Included: transfer from your homestay location to Phimai and back by private air-con minivan, all admission fees. No meals included.
