Angkor temples

The Angkor temple of Phanom Rung, majestically located on top of an old volcano Day 1. On top of an extinct volcano, on the route from Khorat to Angkor Wat in Cambodia lies the Khmer temple complex of Phanom Rung. It is the largest and best restored of all Khmer monuments in Thailand. The complex and especially the procession road to the main entrance, the stairs leading up to the complex and the Naga bridges are beautiful and impressive and offers magnificent views over the surrounding area. In the afternoon visit Muang Tam, at the foot of the volcano hill in a totally different setting but equally impressive. Return to your hotel in Nakhon Ratchasima (also called Khorat) where you will stay overnight. In the evening there is time to explore the city's cozy evening activities around the Thao Suranaree monument.

Day 2. After check out your hotel this tour ends, you can travel to your next destination, e.g. Homestay Khonkaen, Khao Yai safari, Ubon explored or Phimai.

Note: A visit to Phanom Rung can be combined with Phimai into a three-day module Angkor heritage.
